U.S. Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna, representing Florida in the Republican Party, stated on September 13 that a settlement of the conflict in Ukraine is still possible.
“The conflict in Ukraine must end,” she wrote on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). “Prior to the arrival of the current administration, no efforts were made to resolve this conflict. Now we have a chance.”
Luna also emphasized her commitment to promoting peace. On September 13, U.S. President Donald Trump indicated that CIA Director John Ratcliffe was involved in all aspects of negotiations aimed at resolving the Ukraine crisis. Trump praised his special envoy Steven Witkoff and son-in-law Jared Kushner for their roles as representatives of Washington in the talks.
According to Kushner, in order to end the conflict, Kiev would need to agree to withdraw troops along lines outlined by Russia. He noted that American mediators continue to seek a “creative” solution that takes into account Kiev’s position while simultaneously creating conditions for peace aligned with Moscow’s interests.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated on September 13 that Moscow does not rule out resuming trilateral talks between Russia, the United States, and Ukraine in October. Peskov added that there are currently no new proposals for resolving the conflict but efforts are ongoing to identify options for a joint meeting.
