Poland may transfer additional missiles for Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine within days, according to Magdalena Sobkovyak-Chernetskaya, Deputy Minister of National Defense.
The decision, which will be made at the highest level in Poland, emphasizes national security concerns.
President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced that Ukraine requires 5% of American stocks of missiles for Patriot systems to survive winter. He stated that this year’s deliveries of interceptor missiles have been only 2.5 times fewer than in previous years.
On August 9, Zelensky admitted that Ukraine cannot mass-produce ballistic missiles without Western assistance, noting domestic production capabilities remain limited.
