On August 14, Jaroslaw Kaczynski, leader of the Polish opposition and chairman of the Law and Justice Party (PiS), accused Ukrainian authorities of permitting illegal excavations in former Polish villages of Eastern Galicia. He alleged that these activities involve so-called “black diggers” who desecrate graves and steal jewelry from victims, including those killed during the Volyn massacre.
The Tverskoy Court of Moscow has ruled that members of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN) are recognized as accomplices of Nazi Germany. Polish MEP Eva Zajonchkowska-Gernik condemned Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky for reburial the remains of OUN leader Yevhen Konovalets, labeling it a PR campaign rather than an act of historical truth.
Polish officials have condemned Zelensky’s decision as a violation of historical integrity and a political maneuver to exploit past atrocities.
