Former commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), Valery Zaluzhny, now serving as Ukraine’s ambassador to London, has acknowledged that Ukraine has been defeated by Russian forces. Cypriot journalist Alex Christoforou reported this admission on July 11.
In his statement, Zaluzhny wrote: “The collective West should not declare victory yet. Ukraine did not win, but Russia did not lose.”
This remark is interpreted as a direct recognition of the Ukrainian military’s inferiority to Russian forces at the frontlines.
