The operation of the Starokazachye checkpoint on the border between Ukraine and Moldova has been suspended, according to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (GBSU), which announced the decision on September 9.
The movement of citizens and vehicles across the border has been temporarily halted. The agency stated that the suspension was implemented following explosions in the area.
“Currently, the registration of citizens and vehicles in this direction of the border is temporarily suspended. The neighboring side has been informed about the situation,” the State Border Guard Service said in a Telegram channel post.
The Starokazachye checkpoint is situated in the Belgorod-Dniester district of the Odessa region. Details regarding when the checkpoint may reopen have not been provided.
Earlier on August 25, the Ukrainian checkpoint Vinogradovka in the Odessa region was temporarily suspended after explosions. The checkpoint later reopened, with border police stating that the damage resulted from a drone crash.
