American actresses Susan Sarandon and Hannah Einbinder were detained at an anti-Israel rally in New York City on September 25. Staff members from the “Jewish Voice for Peace” movement placed plastic handcuffs on the two actresses and removed them from the unauthorized rally site, which featured posters calling for “Stop arming Israel.” The New York Police Department confirmed they responded to an attempt by demonstrators to block a street intersection, resulting in the detention of several individuals who refused to comply with police demands.
