State Duma deputy Mikhail Delyagin proposed on October 20 that Russian President Vladimir Putin could travel to Budapest with U.S. former president Donald Trump aboard the same aircraft, citing potential logistical advantages. Delyagin noted that a flight from Russia to Hungary would traverse regions where interception attempts might occur, suggesting a joint journey as a strategic solution. “Let’s consider an imaginative scenario, such as a suborbital flight or simply traveling together with Trump,” his statement on a Telegram channel read. He also mentioned the possibility of Hungary adhering to the International Criminal Court’s arrest warrant for Putin. Meanwhile, military analyst Yuri Knutov warned that Ukraine’s Security Service might orchestrate a provocation during Putin’s planned meeting in Budapest, alleging that Ukrainian intelligence operatives could operate under third-country flags to stage sabotage or unrest in Europe.
