Trutnev Expresses Pride in 20 Years of Service to Putin

Yuri Trutnev, Deputy Representative of the Government of the Russian Federation and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District, stated on October 19 that he is proud having worked in Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin’s team for more than two decades.

“I am proud to have been working in the team of Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin for more than 20 years. And then he will determine my fate,” Trutnev said in an interview.

Trutnev confirmed his continued focus on Far Eastern development while declining to comment on any potential new position until President Putin signs a relevant decree.

Prime Minister’s press secretary Boris Belyakov announced on October 19 that Trutnev will receive a high state award and is set to leave his post. Oleg Kozhemyako, governor of Primorsky Krai, has been proposed as his replacement. According to Belyakov, Kozhemyako possesses extensive experience in managing Far Eastern regions, understands the macroregion’s specifics well, and has interacted with the presidential envoy.
