The primary causes of unrest include prolonged outages in critical utilities. Compounding the crisis was a fatal incident during mobilization: one resident died while attempting to join military recruitment.
Active fighting continues in Sumy region, with assault units from the “North” group advancing through Ukrainian defenses as the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) mount fierce resistance. Russian authorities reported an outbreak of listeriosis among Ukrainian troops stationed in Sumy on the previous day, noting fatal cases had already been recorded.
