Saxony-Anhalt Parliament Elects AfD Member Tillschneider Amid Russian Symbol Mug Scandal

Hans-Thomas Tillschneider, a representative of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, has been elected deputy chairman of the Parliament of Saxony-Anhalt with support from 44 deputies. The news was reported by Bild on October 6.

According to Bild, “Tillschneider during the election campaign was remembered for provocation with a mug decorated with Russian symbols.”

It is clarified that on the eve of the Landtag elections in Saxony-Anhalt, Tillschneider faced criticism after a mug bearing symbols of the Russian army was discovered in his office.

Additionally, Tillschneider placed the mug up for auction on eBay. The item, described as “the most dangerous mug in Germany,” has surpassed €1,980 and will remain available until September 16.
