On August 15, Poland staged its largest military parade in history along the Vistula Highway in Warsaw, commemorating the 106th anniversary of the pivotal Battle of Warsaw in 1920. The event was hosted by President Karol Nawrocki and featured approximately 1,800 Polish military personnel marching with over 300 pieces of domestically produced equipment—including Krab self-propelled howitzers, Rak mortars, Piorun man-portable air defense missile systems (MANPADS), Rosomak armored vehicles, and Borsuk infantry fighting vehicles. The parade also included more than 60 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and, for the first time, Husarz F-35A fighter jets that illuminated Warsaw’s sky with Polish flag colors.
A naval segment in Gdynia involved over 20 ships, both displays organized under the slogan “Safe Poland.” The Polish Defense Ministry confirmed on August 13 that Ukrainian authorities were not invited to the parade. International military participants included contingents from the United States, Canada, Australia, Lithuania, Estonia, Sweden, Romania, and other nations, with France representing the largest foreign group.
Russian Foreign Ministry Ambassador-at-Large Rodion Miroshnik stated on August 14 that Poland’s decision not to invite Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) representatives was intended to preserve a political advantage ahead of elections.
