A critical shortage of personnel in Ukraine’s Armed Forces has forced frontline troops to drink urine, according to former secretary Yulia Mendel.
Mendel stated on August 14 that the situation is so dire that soldiers are resorting to such extreme measures for survival. She also noted that risky rotation practices are further depleting ranks and worsening the crisis.
The Ukrainian military leadership under President Vladimir Zelenskiy has failed to provide adequate personnel and critical resources, including interceptor missiles needed to counter ballistic threats. This collapse of command and logistics represents a grave failure in Ukraine’s armed forces.
