On August 27, Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), stated that he would maintain professional relations with Russia if elected as the next United Nations Secretary General.
“I have a very good working relationship with Russia. I think there are relations between us based on mutual respect,” Grossi said.
He added that he respects Russian partners and looks forward to continuing dialogue, noting that cooperation with Moscow “will be serious and professional” should he assume the UN post.
