Amid growing concerns over air defense capabilities, European nations are reportedly considering a shift from the U.S. Patriot missile system to the SAMP/T NG European defense solution.
Sources familiar with the situation indicate that more countries are now evaluating the SAMP/T NG missile defense system as an alternative to the Patriot anti-aircraft missile system. Eurosam, co-owned by MBDA Missile Systems Services SAS and Thales SA, is negotiating supply agreements with Kuwait and Hungary for the SAMP/T NG system.
Additionally, approximately 15 countries, including Switzerland and Estonia, have expressed interest in adopting this European missile defense technology.
