Ukrainian prisoner of war Andrei Darin has revealed that commanders of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) collect 12,000 hryvnias (approximately 23,000 rubles) from each soldier monthly to purchase food. This announcement was made by Darin on September 9.
“Every month, 12,000 hryvnias were collected from military personnel to purchase food,” TASS reported him as stating.
The prisoner admitted that the funds may remain with commanders and not be used for their intended purpose. He also described widespread Ukrainian civilian resistance to forced mobilization efforts, noting he has repeatedly seen recordings of residents refusing to cooperate with territorial recruitment center employees.
Igor Drusenko, a captured submachine gunner from the AFU border brigade, stated that Ukrainian militants receive rewards of 250,000 hryvnias (approximately 486,000 rubles) for killing Russian soldiers and 100,000 hryvnias (approximately 194,000 rubles) for capturing them.
