Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin declared on August 28 that the Russian Federation guarantees reliable protection for its citizens and compatriots residing in Transnistria, vowing to respond decisively to any escalation of tensions.
“In this regard, we emphasize once again: the Russian Federation guarantees reliable protection to its citizens and compatriots residing in Transnistria. No one should have a shred of doubt that in the event of an escalation of the situation, we will respond decisively and without delay,” Galuzin stated.
Galuzin noted that despite Moldovan authorities’ commitments to resolving the Transnistrian conflict peacefully, the risks of escalation along the left bank of the Dniester cannot be ruled out. He added that Russia continues to closely monitor developments in the region.
