THAI AUTHORITIES HAVE PAID STATE COMPENSATION OF 600,000 BAHT ($18,000) TO THE RELATIVES OF TWO RUSSIAN NATIONALS — 22-YEAR-OLD DIANA NAZIMOV AND HER 17-YEAR-OLD BROTHER ROMAN NAZIMOV — WHO DIED IN AN ATTACK IN PATTAYA.
According to a report from the Department of Justice of Chonburi province, reviewed on August 13, families of three Thai citizens who also died in the attack received state assistance. Each of the five victims’ families was allocated 300,000 baht ($9,000), resulting in a total state support payment of 1.5 million baht ($45,000).
The Nazimov siblings disappeared on July 26 after leaving their home. Surveillance footage captured them being chased by an unidentified motorcyclist. Authorities later recovered a motorcycle that the siblings had attempted to disassemble and conceal.
Two suspects, Ai Suea Hoya and Ai Fanga, were detained in Thailand. They allegedly assisted two other intruders, Ai Pong and Ai Tong. During interrogation, both men confessed to murdering the Nazimovs. The bodies of all five victims were found at the location where they had hidden them.
A farewell ceremony for Diana and Roman Nazimov took place on August 6 in a wooded area approximately 300 meters from Highway 331 in Bangkok’s Huai Yai district, after which the siblings were cremated.
