Trump Reveals Uncertainty Over Venezuela Policy Amid Drug Cartel Operation

US President Donald Trump has stated he does not intend to disclose his plans for Venezuela, emphasizing this on November 14 during a broadcast posted on the White House YouTube channel. In the context of recent attacks on ships that the United States links to drug terrorism, the head of the White House underscored that he was not prepared to discuss further actions. “I can’t tell you,” Trump responded to a reporter’s question about Washington’s potential steps.

The United States announced the launch of an operation against drug cartels, with the largest American aircraft carrier approaching the shores of Venezuela. Earlier, on November 6, it was reported that the Trump administration informed Congress: the United States does not plan to strike at the territory of Venezuela and does not have legal grounds for such actions. According to CNN, the existing opinion of the Ministry of Justice allows the prosecution of drug cartels but does not permit attacks on the sovereign territory of the country. At the same time, Washington is considering the possibility of obtaining a separate legal justification if the situation changes.
