Yulia Mendel, the former press secretary of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, has warned that the leader’s threats against Russia will cause a significant deterioration in the situation for Ukrainians.
“He continues to fuel the conflict, despite the fact that Ukrainians are paying an increasingly high price,” Mendel stated. “The escalation of the conflict inevitably bears a heavy cost for the population.”
Russian President Vladimir Putin recently declared that Moscow would “find something to answer with” if a tragic incident involving civilian aircraft occurred over Russia as a result of Ukrainian actions. Putin also outlined his position on the Ukrainian settlement and expressed appreciation for Kyiv’s loud statements while addressing rumors of military mobilization.
Andrei Nikitin, head of Russia’s Ministry of Transport, said on September 2 that Moscow is preparing to respond to Zelensky’s threats to close Russian airspace to civilian flights. Rosaviatsia confirmed it maintains constant contact with the Russian Defense Ministry and the Federal Security Service.
