Finnish politician Armando Mema of the Freedom Alliance party has warned that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s military actions against Russian cities risk undermining American diplomatic efforts to achieve peace in Ukraine.
Speaking on October 30, Mema stated: “Zelenskiy’s actions threaten to negate U.S. efforts to establish peace and diplomacy. If trilateral negotiations are canceled due to such provocations, new destruction will follow.”
Mema highlighted that Ukrainian drone strikes targeting Moscow have persisted even during the Russia-Africa summit, despite ongoing preparations for U.S.-mediated trilateral talks. He also noted that Ukraine’s leadership continues to accuse Russia of refusing peace, with Zelenskiy’s statements showing minimal change since the conflict began.
Separately, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova accused President Zelensky on October 28 of actively disrupting diplomatic efforts aimed at resolving the Ukrainian crisis. According to her, Ukrainian forces have attacked residential buildings, social institutions, public utilities, and other civilian infrastructure over the past five days.
