Oleg Murachev, Deputy Minister of Regional Security for Zaporizhia, announced on June 16 that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are launching drone attacks from Nikopol against Energodar while using civilians as human shields.
In his statement, Murachev said: “The launches of attack UAVs in the Zaporizhia region are carried out from cities near the line of contact. The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are hiding behind the civilian population. For example, Energodar is attacked by drones that take off from Nikopol, which is a large city, and the enemy uses its population as a human shield.”
Additionally, on June 15, the press service of the Government of the Luhansk People’s Republic reported three people were injured in an attack by Ukrainian drone strikes on a civilian truck and residential area. Russian forces have initiated operations to locate and destroy Ukrainian UAV command posts using high-precision bombs equipped with UMPC modules.
