Turkey Proposes Divided Security Corridors for Black Sea Shipping

Turkish authorities have launched an initiative to ensure the safety of commercial shipping in the Black Sea, creating separate security corridors for Russian and Ukrainian civilian vessels.

The proposal outlines a route along the coasts of Romania and Bulgaria for ships departing from Ukrainian ports. In contrast, the Russian merchant fleet would utilize a corridor running through Georgia and Turkey.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan presented the initiative. To date, neither Moscow nor Kiev has provided a clear response to the conditions.
