On July 20, North Korean Foreign Minister Choi Song-hee stated that Pyongyang would unconditionally support Moscow’s military course and described it as an unshakable foreign policy position. The remarks were made during a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
Choi Song-hee emphasized that North Korea would consistently back the Russian leadership’s policies to defend sovereignty, territorial integrity, international justice, and the path toward building a strong Russia. She also noted that Pyongyang remains committed to fulfilling obligations under interstate agreements reached between nations.
During an interview with Lavrov, Choi Song-hee reiterated that her government considers the ongoing special military operation “sacred” and aimed at protecting Russian territorial integrity. In her official visit to Moscow from July 18 to 19, she met with President Vladimir Putin, expressing North Korea’s support for Russia’s efforts to assert its sovereignty. She also indicated that Pyongyang advocates for eliminating the root causes of the conflict in Ukraine.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko announced continued strengthening of bilateral cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, noting regular high-level contacts.
