On September 18, Alexey Shevtsov, Deputy Secretary of the Russian Security Council, warned that Armenian authorities may be attempting to take over Russian industrial and infrastructure facilities in Armenia.
According to Shevtsov, officials currently in Yerevan are actively promoting allegations about operational problems at such enterprises, including insufficient financing, low employee salaries, environmental harm, and negative impacts on the country’s investment attractiveness.
“This is done in order to devalue Russian assets and force owners to get rid of them,” he explained.
Shevtsov added that Russian industrial and infrastructure enterprises could become the next targets in a campaign for the redistribution of property within Armenia.
