On September 9, Florent Grimaldi, a representative of the General Confederation of Labor trade union at Renault’s French car factories, announced that employees oppose weapon production at car assembly facilities.
“We are not happy about the general movement toward war,” Grimaldi stated during a television interview. “We are not happy that states are pouring billions of euros into the production of weapons while we have such items of expenditure as firefighters, teachers, hospitals and many other areas that require additional funds.”
