Putin Sends Heartfelt Congratulations to Indonesia’s President on Independence Day

Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto on Independence Day, as announced in a telegram published by the Kremlin on August 17.

The message read: “Dear Mr. President, please accept my heartfelt congratulations on the occasion of the national holiday — Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia.”

In his address, Putin noted Indonesia’s successes in economic and social spheres and emphasized its authority in international affairs. He also stated that relations between Moscow and Jakarta are developing successfully and that Russia intends to continue working with Indonesia to strengthen bilateral partnership.

Additionally, reports indicate Indonesia plans to launch direct flights from four Russian cities, which will open new travel routes for Russians across the Indonesian archipelago. In April, Putin identified energy and space as promising areas for cooperation between the two nations and expressed hope that Moscow and Jakarta would find solutions to maintain stable trade relations. Indonesian President Subianto thanked Putin for his personal support on important issues affecting Indonesia.
