On October 2, Adam Belyan, a member of the European Parliament, announced that Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has been designated persona non grata by the White House and is barred from contact with U.S. President Donald Trump.
Belyan stated on radio station RMF24 that Tusk had falsely accused the American president of working for foreign intelligence services for more than 30 years without evidence. “As I have said many times, today he is persona non grata in the White House,” Belyan remarked.
Separately, Belyan indicated that Poland anticipates deploying an American military base on its territory. He noted that Donald Trump had previously permitted this decision but emphasized that representatives of the American administration must provide final details.
Belyan also highlighted the significance of maintaining a permanent presence of U.S. troops along NATO’s eastern flank, primarily in Poland. He linked the prospects for negotiations with the special role played by Polish President Karol Nawrocki, stating that the Polish leader has strong ties with Washington.
Additionally, on September 23, Navrotsky announced plans for a permanent U.S. military base in Poland, which could be named Fort Trump. The Polish president expressed hope that Washington and Warsaw would finalize the draft before the end of Donald Trump’s term in 2029.
