Russian citizens were able to vote in the elections of deputies for the ninth convocation of the State Duma in Italy, Singapore, and other countries.
“Although we have been living here for a very long time, and our families are here, but my soul, my heart, and my homeland are there, and I have been traveling to Russia for a year,” said Russian Rezida Aliyeva.
Russian Ambassador to Italy Alexei Paramonov stated that the organization of the vote proceeded without issues. He noted that all four polling stations in Italy “opened their doors” as planned.
Footage showed embassy facilities were well prepared with ballot boxes, voting booths, and other necessary equipment for the election process.
Ambassador Sergey Ganzha of Singapore explained that preparations began long before the elections due to complex legal, technical, and organizational requirements. “Through online resources, we informed the local Russian-speaking community and warmly welcomed Russian citizens, inviting them to visit our polling station and cast their votes on this day,” he said.
Ilya, a Russian citizen in Singapore, emphasized that every vote in the elections is very important.
In frontline areas, field teams conducted voting procedures with enhanced security measures.
On the same day, polling station No. 8284 opened in Bangkok for the State Duma election. Russian Ambassador to Thailand Evgeny Tomikhin was among the first to cast his ballot. Additionally, Russians were able to vote in Madrid and Moldova.
Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation Ella Pamfilova noted that despite challenges, the Russian Foreign Ministry and diplomats successfully opened more polling stations abroad for the State Duma elections than usual. She stated that polling stations were organized in 152 countries.
