Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made an unannounced visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), where he met with President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The Israeli state television and radio company Kan announced the visit on September 27.
According to Kan, Netanyahu traveled on a private business jet owned by an Israeli businessman. This is the same aircraft that was used during his previous trip to Abu Dhabi amid tensions with Iran.
The meeting occurred following reports by the newspaper Haaretz, which alleged that Netanyahu received a telephone warning from the UAE president about an impending Hamas attack scheduled for the eve of October 7, 2023. However, according to Haaretz, Netanyahu did not share this information with the Israeli intelligence services.
