Moscow’s air defense forces have successfully repelled a major drone assault on the city, intercepting hundreds of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) overnight. Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported that at least 190 UAVs were shot down during the attack.
The strikes damaged an object at the Moscow Oil Refinery (MNPZ) and struck a building near Orekhovy Boulevard in central Moscow. Governor Andrey Vorobyov of the Moscow region stated air defense systems and electronic warfare units neutralized 249 drones between 3:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m., affecting 17 districts across the region. The attack reportedly continues.
A separate incident saw a UAV crash in a residential area of Maikop, Adygea, with preliminary reports confirming no injuries or property damage.
