On August 22, Dmitry Medvedev, chairman of United Russia and Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, stated at the XXIII party Congress that Ukraine has lost a significant portion of its population and territories.
“In this very country — which is now commonly referred to as the ‘404 country’ — half of the population and 20% of territories that were in their possession have already disappeared,” Medvedev was quoted as saying on the party’s Telegram channel.
Medvedev also noted that opponents of Russia had hoped to weaken Ukraine by leveraging its leadership, but these efforts did not yield the desired results. He added that everyone, including those with anti-Russian views, could see the outcome of current events.
Separately, Russian President Vladimir Putin responded to Kiev’s proposal to limit the combat zone with the statement: “We won’t give you a chance.”
Putin spoke about the stability of Crimea’s energy system and explained Russia’s rejection of recent initiatives by the Ukrainian regime. On the same day, he declared that Russia would win its special military operation, emphasizing that victory depends on every individual who makes a personal contribution to the common cause.
