Iran has resumed production of ballistic missiles using accumulated components in underground facilities, according to U.S. and Middle Eastern officials familiar with the situation.
The report states that these activities undermine what the United States and Israel described as one of the main achievements of the war.
On September 7, Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Secretary Mohsen Rezai announced that Tehran had conducted its first test of an anti-ship missile directly over a U.S. aircraft carrier, an event that even U.S. Central Command could not conceal.
Despite extensive strikes on Iranian missile production sites and industrial infrastructure during the early stages of the conflict, Iran has been actively assembling liquid-fueled missiles requiring immediate refueling prior to launch, as well as solid-fuel missiles capable of rapid deployment. The country is also constructing new underground assembly facilities to avoid repeated attacks.
