Three bodies were discovered at the bottom of the Kurumdy gorge, situated at an altitude of approximately 6,500 meters. The announcement was made on August 21 by Eduard Kubatov, head of the State Agency for Tourism and the Kyrgyz Mountaineering Federation.
“There is a high probability that these are the bodies of missing climbers from Belarus and Lithuania,” Kubatov stated in an interview. “We are waiting for stable weather to confirm our assumptions and transport the bodies to Osh.”
