On September 5, British Mercedes driver George Russell recorded the fastest time in the third free practice session for the Italian Grand Prix at Monza. Russell completed the lap in 1 minute 22.219 seconds. Lewis Hamilton of Ferrari finished second, 0.226 seconds behind, while Max Verstappen from Red Bull placed third with a time of 1 minute 22.570 seconds (0.350 seconds slower than Russell). Mercedes teammate Andrea Kimi Antonelli rounded out the top four with a lap time of 1 minute 22.580 seconds (+0.361 seconds).
The Italian Grand Prix qualification session will take place on September 5, with the race scheduled for September 6.
