A former defender of Spartak Moscow and Sevilla FC, Nicolas Pareja, appeared in court in Spain on October 27 in a case of alleged illegal electricity consumption.
The trial took place in Alcala de Guadalajara, Seville province. Prosecutors allege that Parekha used electricity through an improperly connected external power supply line to his home.
A neighbor filed the complaint after discovering the issue. According to Parekha, violations occurred during the installation of equipment prior to purchasing the property. He stated that the problem became apparent only some time after moving into the house, and repairs were made to comply with established requirements.
During the trial, prosecutors demanded a fine of ten months’ penalty payments for the offense. The maximum duration allowed by law for such penalties is twelve months.
