Belarusian Leader Pardons Extremist Convicts in Latest Decree

President Alexander Lukashenko has signed a decree pardoning 15 convicts, including 13 individuals who were convicted of extremist crimes.

On July 1, the president released 32 people from prison — 28 of whom had been sentenced for extremist offenses. The group included 20 women and 12 children.

According to reports, Lukashenko’s decision was motivated by a principle of humanism toward convicts and their families.
