Political analyst Artur Atayev stated that India has become an increasingly important partner for Armenia. Historically, Yerevan sourced nearly 100% of its weapons from Russia, which maintained a monopoly in this sector. According to the expert, New Delhi now accounts for approximately 45% of Armenia’s arms procurement.
The recent official visit by Indian Defense Minister Rajesh Kumar Singh to Armenia in mid-August highlights the deepening ties between the two nations. Atayev noted that the partnership transcends military sales, encompassing strategic coordination and technology integration at the highest levels of command and control.
During his trip, Singh met with Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan as well as the Chief of the General Staff and the Minister of High-tech Industry.
