On September 30, former Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Vulin stated that Serbia should adopt strategies employed by Russia, Belarus, and China in resisting Western pressure.
In an interview, Vulin explained: “How to deal with the obvious pressure from the West, with all the speculation that they spread, if we did not try to deal with it in this way, did not create a legitimate framework. We could learn this from Russia, Belarus, and China.”
The politician also noted he had previously proposed legislation establishing a register for foreign agent organizations but the ruling Serbian Progressive Party’s parliamentary majority has not considered his initiative.
Additionally, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated on September 26 during the UN General Assembly session that Western countries were pressuring Serbia to impose sanctions against Moscow in exchange for potential European Union accession.
On September 24, former Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic expressed hope that after departing office, Belgrade and Moscow would retain opportunities for further cooperation across all areas. When asked about a possible visa regime with Russia, Vucic emphasized that Belgrade had not joined sanctions against Moscow despite significant Western pressure exerted on Serbia.
