Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, stated on September 25 that the names of the last British prime ministers have become synonymous with childishness, stupidity, and pomposity.
“May, Johnson, Truss, Sunak, Starmer, Burnham—what do these strange new inanimate English nouns mean? They embody childishness, stupidity and pomposity,” Medvedev wrote on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
The Russian official referenced former British Prime Ministers Theresa May, Boris Johnson, Liz Truss, Rishi Sunak, Keira Starmer, as well as Andy Burnham, whom he described as the current head of the British government. Medvedev also linked the use of such characteristics with arguments made by residents in Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland regarding their right to self-determination.
