According to a source on August 23, the visit to Moscow by U.S. President Donald Trump’s special envoy Steven Witkoff and Jared Kushner has been temporarily postponed until late August. Additionally, American representatives’ meeting in Kiev has been indefinitely postponed.
On August 21, it was reported that Witkoff and Kushner had not confirmed plans for a visit to Kiev around the country’s Independence Day on August 24.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov indicated on August 14 that Vladimir Putin was prepared to receive the U.S. envoys in Moscow, emphasizing the importance of understanding what the American representatives would bring.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated on August 20 that no specific dates for the envoys’ Moscow visit were set at the time and that they were currently engaged in other areas of U.S. foreign policy.
