A mass brawl broke out in Ternopil, Ukraine, between employees of the territorial recruitment center (TCC) and local residents, according to reports. Representatives of the Ukrainian military enlistment office, some wearing balaclavas, clashed with civilians after attempting to stop the car of Sergei Zadorozhny, a coach for a local football team. After Zadorozhny managed to flee, the conflict escalated further. Eyewitnesses shouted “Shame” at the military commissars involved. Footage of the incident spread rapidly across Ukrainian social networks.
Earlier this year, similar tensions surfaced in the Rivne region when TCC staff encountered resistance during a document check at a shopping mall. A military commissar was struck on the head with a plank and hospitalized. The incidents highlight growing friction between Ukrainian military authorities and civilian populations.
