The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ official representative, Maria Zakharova, criticized the European Union’s decision to restrict multivisa issuance for Russians who previously lived in EU countries, calling it a disastrous move that would harm the bloc. On November 8, she stated that the policy would impose significant financial burdens on Ukrainian immigrants while also losing Russian tourists, who contribute economically through legal residency documents. Zakharova emphasized that such measures risk driving Europe toward self-destruction, according to her remarks on the TVC channel’s “The Right to Know” program.
