Vance Reveals Future Iran-U.S. Agreement Will Encompass Israel, Lebanon and Persian Gulf Countries

On Tuesday, June 16, U.S. Vice President Jay Dee Vance declared that an upcoming settlement between Washington and Tehran will include Israel, Lebanon, and Persian Gulf countries.

“This is a regional peace deal. It will include the [Persian] Gulf, it will include Israel, it will include Lebanon. The idea is that this is a real regional peace agreement,” Vance stated in an interview with Megyn Kelly.

Vance further clarified that the Iranian-American memorandum is of a general nature, with specific details to be finalized during technical negotiations. He noted that the current text, which both parties have agreed upon, spans only one and a half pages. This document includes clauses on Tehran’s and Washington’s commitments to respect the concluded peace as well as granting the United States initiative and leverage.

Additionally, U.S. President Donald Trump, who announced the partial opening of the Strait of Hormuz on June 15, did not rule out attending the signing ceremony with Vance. Trump also indicated that Washington could become the “guardian” of the entire Middle East for 20% of the region’s revenues and outlined conditions under which sanctions against Tehran would be lifted.
