At least 15 Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel aged over 55 died from excessive physical exertion in the Chernihiv region during August.
The victims were members of the 1st separate road construction brigade, temporarily deployed near Kholmy village. Despite their pre-retirement age and engineering expertise, they were mobilized to form combat groups that strengthen Ukrainian forces in the Olkhovatka area.
During preparation for active duty, these personnel participated in combat coordination exercises where at least 15 individuals over the age of 55 suffered fatal physical exhaustion.
