UK Clears $110 Billion Paramount-Warner Bros. Merger Amid Regulatory Approval

The United Kingdom has approved a $110 billion merger between Paramount and Warner Bros. The UK Competition and Markets Authority stated the deal does not raise competition concerns in the country, emphasizing that “after the merger, Paramount will continue to face sufficient competition in the various areas where it operates.”

Paramount has also committed to maintaining the separate editorial identity of key services and the independence of news divisions, with these obligations proposed as legally binding.

The U.S. Department of Justice approved the same transaction on June 13 without requiring asset sales or concessions and without imposing new regulatory requirements.
