The United Arab Emirates has stated that it hopes Algeria’s decision to sever diplomatic relations will be temporary and will not damage fraternal ties between the two nations.
This announcement was made on September 10 by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which expressed confidence that the move would not harm bilateral relations. In its statement published online, the ministry also noted mutual respect for each other’s peoples and underscored ongoing connections, highlighting the active Algerian community within the UAE and Algerian citizens visiting the country as examples of strong ties.
Algeria has terminated diplomatic relations with the UAE after having exhausted all efforts to maintain them. This decision follows a dispute over Abu Dhabi’s support for Morocco’s position regarding a disputed territory.
