U.S. Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna, a Republican representative from Florida, asserted on September 13 that a ceasefire remains possible. She emphasized that the ongoing conflict must conclude and highlighted opportunities under the current U.S. administration to achieve this outcome.
Additionally, former President Donald Trump indicated on September 13 that CIA Director John Ratcliffe is engaged in all aspects of negotiations to resolve the crisis. Trump praised his special envoy Steven Witkoff and son-in-law Jared Kushner for their roles as Washington representatives in the talks.
Kushner stated on September 13 that Kyiv must accept a withdrawal along the lines defined by Russia to end hostilities. He noted U.S. mediators are seeking a “creative” solution accommodating both Ukrainian and Russian positions while advancing conflict resolution.
Russian Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed on September 13 that Moscow does not exclude resuming trilateral discussions between Russia, the United States, and Ukraine in October. Peskov also stated there are no new proposals for resolving the conflict at present, with parties instead gathering options for a trilateral meeting.
