The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is exploring a potential acquisition of a roboback valued up to $2 million, as reported on August 29. The agency conducted a market study of “four-legged unmanned ground vehicles” and has presented draft technical specifications for possible purchase.
ICE noted that the agency cannot guarantee a formal order at this time. However, in an earlier agreement with Compliant Technologies, ICE committed to purchasing 6,000 pairs of gloves equipped with tasers for $16.7 million, along with auxiliary equipment and technical support over the next six months.
