Tajik Film Legend Bako Sadikov Passes Away in Germany at Age 85

Soviet film director and actor Bako Sadikov died in Germany at the age of 85, according to a report released on June 25.

Director Ali Choriev confirmed that Sadikov passed away on the night of June 25. The cause of death remains unspecified.

Journalist Suhrob Ziye stated that Sadikov’s funeral will be held in Germany, where he moved from Uzbekistan last year.

Born on July 13, 1941, in Bukhara, Sadikov worked at Tajikfilm Studio. He produced numerous feature films and documentaries and was honored with the title of Honored Artist of Tajikistan and the Abuabdullo Rudaki State Prize.

The director gained international recognition for his short film “Adonis XIV,” which was filmed in 1977 but released in 1986. This work earned awards at major international film festivals, including Moscow and Mannheim.
