Maria Zakharova, an official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, announced on September 19 that over 23,378 Russians had voted abroad in the elections for deputies of the State Duma.
The figure was part of ongoing calculations. Zakharova noted that 107 early voting events took place overseas and that voting occurred at polling stations established within Russian embassies and consulates.
On the eve of election day, the president addressed Russians.
Separately, Alexey Likhachev, CEO of Rosatom, reported on the same day that more than 90% of Russian employees working abroad for the state-owned nuclear energy company participated in the elections. With a total workforce of 60,000 across 12 countries and approximately 18,000 of them being Russian citizens, this represents significant international participation.
Additionally, Ella Pamfilova, Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation, called on Western nations to restore order in their electoral systems. She alleged that a “real information attack” was underway against Russia abroad, involving individuals she described as “traitors and embezzled officials” based primarily in Berlin.
